I didn't get upset that Conan had brown hair instead of black, or that he didn't exactly come off as a thinking man. The REH fan criticisms didn't exist in my world, I was just watching a great fucking movie. That eventually led me to the TOR Conan pastiches at the bookstore, and eventually the actual REH stories when they were published by baen books (it seems ace books seemed to be out of print in this time period). This movie might wow us all after we see it, or it might seem like a steaming saffron colored dog turd with a bent hair sticking out of the side. Or something inbetween. Some kid is still gonna watch this movie a hundred times and jump up and down on the sofa and become a Conan (and jason momoa) fan. If it winds up being a good movie, none of this matters even if the casting or script isn't to our liking. Right now we don't have much information, and some of the information we do have is a little shaky, like some people have issues with the script, and forgive me serg, I have issues with momoa as Conan. It is like we are sailors shipwrecked on an island arguing about how to get off, and one guy thinks he saw a ship in the distance, and another guy is thinking about eating the first mate. If nothing else, it is interesting. For what? It'd not like we're all gonna find each other and have it out right? Anyone can be a tough guy typing behind a keyboard, so whats being proven?To me the novelty is dead , maybe it would be funny if I were 15 but even then I'm not sure. And thats why I like coming here, we all know better.Hey can you guys believe russell crowe in ridley scotts gladiator 2 ..i mean a new robon hood movie? I never saw that coming! Yes I agree the blog is great even if we don't agree all the time.Im 52 now and the kid in me is still excited about a new Conan movie.I used to know Karl Edward Wagner rather well(rest his soul) he was a massive Conan fan but he still thought his anti-hero character Kane would have kicked the Cimmerian's ass in a fight!!
