Another G.I.Joe joins the Conan Movie Cast – Said Taghmaoui

As reported by Hollywoodreporter, another actor from the G.I.Joe team joins the cast of the Conan Movie. Said Taghmaoui, who played the Breaker in G.I.Joe is going to join the cast and take over the role of a thief, that will be rescued by Conan. He will later on team up with Conan, to fight the character played by Stephen Lang. Now the really interesting part in this rumour is the short line stating:

Lang is a ruler in search of a queen whose blood will bring life to the demonic minions of a long-lost god.

The former used “Acheron” is clearly not a long-lost god, but a kingdom. Does this mean the rewrite by Lobel and Hood has been so substantial, that it may fix some of the butchering of Conan lore? We can only hope that this quote was not taken lightly, but really based on a new story arch, that is more in line with Howard’s stories and world lore.

As I already wrote in the last article, the seed of hope has been planted in my heart and this little quote, yet again is a gush of water on dry earth.

    Ho, sword brothers.Don’t be fooled hoping for any Howard material working its way into this. This whole ‘searching for beautiful young lady to bring back evil god’ is Conan the destroyer tacked (hacked?) on to the first half of the Conan the barbarian origin bit.Sorry to be a cynic and all…

    Aside from momoa , i’ve nor had too much of a problem with the rest of the casting , and once we get a pic of momoa as conan, that will clarify things more to a small degree.i remember seeing test screenings of christopher reeve as superman and that guy was a twig if there ever was one , skinnier than momoa by a mile.He ended up defining superman the past 30 years. I dont think he had a great deal of time to beef up, but I could be wrong on that.steve I dont feel you’re being so much cynical, just skeptical like the rest of us, and who can blame you or any of us really? Should they call it conan the barbariandestroyer? That said I’m gonna trust waldgeist and fayric and norse-sage that this is at least some good news on the choice of actor( never saw gi joe, dont recognize the name)chosen.As I said and for the record , if this movie proves me wrong I’ll be the first to admit I was wrong. Just for kicks I had this crazy/ridiculous thought of lemmy kilmister of motorhead playing conans grandfather … Yeah I know , a little weird but try to visualize it you may get a laugh!

    I have seen Said Taghmaoui in a few movies now and he seems to be decent. And if they can change the actor who plays Conan’s father, they can change the actor who plays Conan too.

    What?A hell raising, axe wielding whiskey swigging,womanizer as Conan’s grandfather? Hardly fit in with the rest of the happy meal deal franchise now would he?By Crom, that would be worth going to see!

    @steve-Ah you see my vision…you know to me lemmy is the conan of rockn’roll!i would rather see just his grandfather ( lemmy) then either of conans folks actually.glad you got a kick out of it.
