Daniel Cudmore says he is a possible Conan

Comicbookmovie did an interview with Daniel Cudmore at a Twilight Convention (Mr. Cudmore plays Felix in New Moon) and the actor said that he is a major contender for the role of Conan.

It’s interesting to see who else is “going to play Conan” these days, as there surely is no shortage of wannabe Cimmerians on the market.

Cudmore himself states that Kickinger is supposedly a major contender, which was debunked by Paradox, so it’s questionable if his self-nomination is worth the air ripple they produced, but we wanted to keep you in the loop and on top of the latest rumour.

UPDATE

Daniel Cudmore has posted on his twitter, that he just auditioned for the role, but nothing has come out of it yet.

    Great…teenage Conan here we come!

    Unless his face has aged quite a bit since X3 its gonna be a baby face Conan. Then why not get Hannah Montana as the sidekick. Sounds grreeeeaaat.

    Perhaps they plan to use many different actors, depending on who´s telling the story. Like a tall tale thing, with people stting in a tavern telling stories about the great Conan;) (using the actors like they used them in the Dylan movie “Im not there”)
    They could use pretty-boy Conan when the teen girl tell her story; use Mclaren when the mercenay tell his story, use Drasco when the noble merchant tell his story, etc.

    Sounds interesting if that were the case but so far I doubt the rewrites will incorporate a creative narrative such as that.

    Okay so this movie starts shooting in 2 months time and they don’t have a lead actor? This doesn’t bode well. Btw, check Cudmore’s imdb page for more recent photos.

    Hilarious! Twilight in Hyboria. Didn’t marvel throw in some vampire stories for their Conan comics? Can you imagine it, a Twilight-Conan cross-over (replete with twilight cast) with a Hannah Montana soundtrack. Sounds like the Ratner-Doppenheimer think tank working overtime.

    Well if they are looking for a young Conan actor that might signal they’ll start the film with Conan as a Young Adult sacking the Aquilonians settlements and discovering the ‘civilized’ world. If they did Conan off the Dark Horse comic storylines it might work out as a very good movie series.

    There’s absolutely NO reason they need to come up with some totally original story line for getting Conan off the ground. There’s plenty of source material work with. Taking liberties is fine, but dramatically changing Conan into some revenge machine was the stupidest thing I’d ever read.

    In reality I’m not too worried about the actor as much as the writing and directing. A good story and director can hide a ton of acting flaws.

    Colossus? Hm, hard to imaginate him in a Conan role, but I´d say – probably not!
