Interactive interview with Marcus Nispel the Conan Director

It is time we take matters into our own hands and in true Conan spirit, we have decided that we need to ask The Man Marcus Nispel himself, the questions that matter the most to us! We have absolutely no idea if this is gonna work, or if anyone will answer our humble request at an interview with the new director of the Conan Movie, but sometimes in life you have to be blunt and simply ask :)

But since even we are not without fault (certainly not), we wanna take your input on the matter and collect the questions from you, the Conan fans, the REH fans and create some kind of an interactive interview. We will collect questions for two weeks and then combine them together to create a neat and clean interview to send off to the powers that be, in hope to get a response to them.

So if you have an important and well versed question to throw into the pot, don’t hesitate, chop off the kings head and take the crown, so to speak, post it in the comments of this newsposting OR in the thread on the official Conan forums.

May Mitra guide your questions or Croms wrath hit you, if you post nonsens!

All I want to know is if you will stay strictly loyal to the original Conan character from the REH novels?

Great! I hope this turns out as a success. Time to write down some questions then.

I would like the movie to be true to REH’s vision. However there are aspects from the Milius film that I love, such as the soundtrack. Basil Paledouris’(RIP) music made the movie succeed in many ways.
My question is are you going to be able to use this music or some variation?

Will it be considered to use Basil’s music from the first movie? Or at least renditions?

Basil like music is necessary for this movie

Director of new Conan Marcus Nispel is started as director of music videos and here is a video that it could be interesting to find the main actor.Drasko Anđić unknown actor from Serbia play in this video viking leader and leader of Tatars.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8Ay04x-pYg
In this second video he plays leader of black Angels.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUn4jXZko5E
In the third video he plays the Heroy vampire hunter with a hammer.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDTmKNl3e6Q

I think it is necessary to choose for the main actor somebody who is a completely new, who has no experience in the acting in the movies, but as like this Drasko Andjic only look appropriate, allso have necessary charisma and energy and is a great fan of Conan.Like as the producer Joe Gata said it does not matter in which country we find it,in which street or restaurant, shop, cinema, it is important to match the role of Conan. You do not need us educated actor but you will need someone who have something what Arnold had.

Here is my concern. Arnold was lightning in a bottle. The odds of that happening again are remote. So I worry that there will be too much emphasis on a body builder for the Conan role as opposed to someone who can act. Brad Pitt is not a big guy but he kicked butt in the role of Achillies in TROY. I beg you don’t go for pecs over talent. How about James Purefory? He is reported to be awesome as Solomon Kane. A few months on the weights, if he’s up for it, and you have your franchise. For this film to work, you need someone who can project that kind of intensity. I don’t give a rat’s ass how much they can bench press.

Will there be news on conan at the 2009 San Diego comic-con?

  10. Tom
    At 5. July 2009 22:49 o'clock

Will this be a reimagined remake, a complete reimagination, or a sequel to the last 2 Conan films by Arnold Schwarzenegger?

  11. Waldgeist
    At 5. July 2009 22:51 o'clock

@Tom we can already answer that question: It will absolutely be a complete reimagination and not connected to the other existing Conan movies with Ahnuld.

This is not an actual interview, since he has not agreed to it, nor has he been in contact with any fans.

I don’t think you are serving the interests of the fans to pretend that he is involved in this.

Well, i think that “interview” his a great idea

Uhm.. Kortoso the newstext pretty much CLEARLY states that we do not have any yes from anyone, but that we just want to collect questions.
So maybe you want to clarify what your problem is with collecting questions for an interview, even if there are slim chances we will get answers to them.
One can always try, and in my humble opinion, one should always try.

Ok calm down fellows we don’t want this to turn in to another James vs Kike thing. LOL;)
Anyway being a victim of misunderstanding or the inability to convey thoughts in a blog when your half drunk at two in the morning, may I suggest that we read carefully what someone has to say before jumping to conclusions. I have read what Waldgeist stated in the newstext and understood it clearly and Waldgeist hadn’t failed me yet.
Opinions are like assholes every one has one. Are they wrong? No they’re just assholes.

    @ Big V
We should find out at Comic-Con in 15 days. I don’t think Nispel will get wind of these questions by then.

Any news on that, Waldgeist? It would really be nice to get him answering some questions. I am not that deep into the lore but I enjoy reading the comics (and now the books) plus playing Age of Conan. It would be much appreciated, even for me, that this Movie is getting the right persons to honor Conan and REH.

    At 17. July 2009 21:39 o'clock

When are you going to combine the questions?? I CAN´T WAIT!!

  22. Waldgeist
    At 17. July 2009 23:40 o'clock

The questions are already combined and send away through the channels that be… in hope we get an answer… *pressing thumbs*

I really hope Millenium/Paradox and Nispel understand that a fansite and a fanbase should not be underestimated :)

    NO Jeremy,
Lets hope they follow the original REH story’s, (which by the way he created Conan) Not the milius re-wright, in which had nothing to do with REH Conan. Don’t get me wrong I to liked the first movie, It introduced me to the world of Conan, and I really appreciate that.
But after reading ALL of REH story’s I look back and think, man they really got it wrong, It could of been or should have been so much better if they or he stuck with the original REH story’s.
