Blackman has posted some very interesting replies on the blog now, detailing how and when this shift from Conan 1 to 2 took place, and some great info on how they envision the character. It really is a pity he and McC didn't get to finish their first script.. @Waldgeist

If those two movies would take themselves just a bit more seriously, then they would be at least entertaining and not have this extreme cheezy stench to them.
